I am going to break tabu this week and talk about sex. No, Johnsen, don’t do it. You have lost all sense of industry (not to mention decorum). Wait a minute. Billboards are sexy aren’t they? Yes Johnsen, but only amongst us outdoorsers. We are the only twisted ones that look at a windshield cracker and think to ourselves, “hot damn that’s sexy”.
If you can relate to that last sentence, I have great news for you.
You can now have a personal and intimate relationship with that same aforementioned sign. Johnsen, it’s Monday. Why is it you are always trying to make my hair hurt this early in the morning?
Well…I might be playing from behind, as I usually am, but I saw an ad for a TED Talk on “AI Intimacy” this weekend that supposedly got over 1 million views in the blink of an eye. Bet you are going to run to watch it as quickly as I did.

In short folks, if you haven’t already noticed, we ain’t in Kansas anymore. “AI companionship addiction is real”. Say wha? Am I the only one that feels like someone lifted me off planet earth and deposited me somewhere else?

Her conclusion: ” The most frustrating and messy human relationships will always teach us something that AI never can. What it means to be alive, together.” …IMHO she partially missed the mark. The real thing to remind ourselves is that other humans are not there for our convenience or to meet our needs. We are all here so that we can contribute. It’s in the giving that we only really lose ourselves and find ourselves at the same time.
