The 2022 GO Conference in Marco Island, FL is fast approaching! This week, let’s take a look at the market playing host to this year’s conference – the Ft. Myers-Naples DMA.

Many areas of Ft. Myers are lined with beautiful Royal Palm Trees, which can grow as tall as 80 feet. But did you know that these trees are actually native to Cuba and the Caribbean, and were brought to Ft. Myers by a very well-known inventor? Thomas Edison himself is often credited for bringing these palms to Florida. In fact, it’s said that he planted 200 of them along McGregor Boulevard in Ft. Myers!

Did you know that the beaches in this market are home to more shell varieties than anywhere else in North America? In fact, the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum in Sanibel, FL is the only museum in the country fully dedicated to “shells and the mollusks that make them.”

According to Geopath Insights, there are more than 2,000 spots measured by Geopath within the Ft. Myers-Naples market, which generate over 193 million impressions each week! Additionally, this market has a population of 1.4 million, with over 1/3 of all commuting trips within the DMA taking 30 minutes or more.
