Project X Media Promotes Out-of-Home Industry Luminary Rick Robinson to CEO

Project X Media, Inc., the leading technology-driven Out-of-Home (OOH) media agency, and a Tritium Partners portfolio company, announced today the promotion of Rick Robinson to Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2023. John Laramie (CEO) and Josh Warrum (COO), who co-founded the company in 2010, will step away from day-to-day responsibilities and remain active through their board roles. Robinson takes the helm of a tenured leadership team whom the founders hand-selected for the future.

Rick Robinson is a seasoned OOH Media executive who started in the OOH business as a local salesperson and has developed, marketed, planned or bought virtually all forms of traditional and non-traditional OOH media over his 36-year career. As a catalyst for the business, he has been recognized with the industry’s most prestigious honors (OAAA Hall of Fame and The L. Ray Vahue Marketing Award of Merit). Rick most recently served as the Chief Creative Officer in Residence at the OAAA (Out of Home Advertising Association of America) and as a member of West Hollywood’s Digital Billboard Design Excellence Review Committee for The Sunset Strip.

“Over the last few years, we have been building and strengthening the Project X Leadership Team. We invested heavily in expanding the tools we use to guide the business while continuing to elevate the individuals that will lead Project X through its next growth phase.” says John Laramie, CEO of Project X.  He adds, “With the addition of Rick Robinson this August we knew we had the final piece in place and the team was ready. We recognize it’s time for this Leadership Team to carry the company forward.”

“Project X has all of the right tools for success – a client-centric mentality through a people-first culture, senior OOH talent, the benchmark for tech in the industry, and a rising growth mindset,” says Robinson. He adds, “I’m honored and inspired to build on the last decade of John and Josh’s work, nurture the current culture, and energize the passion that Project X brings to its clients’ OOH campaigns.”

Project X remains bullish on the OOH space and has made several key moves leading up to this transition, including launching a Client Portal, Pulse Reports, the addition of Robinson, and an upcoming response to the supply side’s strong demand to use the ADstruc platform. Expect Project X to continue expanding its value proposition in the OOH space on multiple levels.
