Global Media & Entertainment, Buys 2 OOH Companies to Create ‘Global Outdoor’
Europe’s largest radio company, Global Media & Entertainment, simultaneously purchased two outdoor advertising assets: Primesight and Outdoor Plus. The surprising duel acquisition will be the foundation of a new #OOH company and new division called, Global Outdoor. You may not be familiar with them because they are UK-based. Reportedly the price was over £200 million pounds or $265 million dollars. (If we did the conversion correctly)
Global acquires Primesight and Outdoor Plus, becoming a brand new major player in the OOH space.
The two OOH companies, Primesight and Outdoor Plus includes inventory of more than 100 premium digital OOH locations and a combined portfolio of more than 35,000 OOH sites across the UK. The total reach is equal to a number more than 95% of the UK population.
Are there any success stories of radio owning and operating an Out of Home company?
History tells us, radio does not know how to own and operate an OOH business.
