Will Work for Chocolate is led by their founder and CEO Rebecca Bauwens, who has been translating ideas into workable solutions for over 20 years. We had the chance to ask here a few questions about her company, here’s what she had to say:
Interview with Rebecca Bauwens:
Founder and CEO of Will Work for Chocolate
Will Farmer: Please tell us about Will Work for Chocolate. How long have you been in business? Staffing? Size? Specialties? Billing? Regional Offices?
Rebecca Bauwens: We will be celebrating our 2-year anniversary in September. Our specialty is media planning and media buying on traditional, digital, and social platforms. Every day I’m asked how I came up with the name of our agency and what the story is behind it. It all came from my passion to make a true, emotional connection that inspires action. It truly is our point of differentiation. That’s why I named the company Will Work for Chocolate. Love it or hate it, funny or dumb, you have a reaction. And that tells you more about what we do than a 10-minute pitch ever could.
WF: What would you like brands to know about your shop?
RB: It’s all about how we look at a brand. A great example, using a prior client, is McDonald’s. The Golden Arches isn’t just a fast food restaurant. It’s a part of our memories. McDonald’s is our childhood. It has been there since our first Happy Meal and it will be there for our $1 senior coffee. We help clients find that connective tissue, what makes them unique, and develop our strategy around it.
WF: What would you like the OOH Industry to know?
RB: We champion OOH and know how persuasive and influential the medium can be. It plays an integral role in the majority of our marketing campaigns.
WF: Do you work with clients directly and/or through agencies? What is the percentage breakdown?
RB: We work with both clients directly and through agencies with the percentage split right at about 50%.
WF: Any comments or suggestions for OOH reps in approaching or working with your company?
RB: We are relationship builders who are laser-focused on results. We are all about teamwork and love to get all of our vendors on a call together to collaborate. We rely on each other’s expertise. It is through this joint partnership that we are driven to do our best work.
WF: What differentiates your business from others?
RB: What sets us apart is our knowledge and skillset. The expertise of our Founder in the industry is unsurpassed. “Throughout my 20-year career I have worked on top Fortune 500 brands including Walmart, McDonald’s, P&G, and Disney, in the CPG, fast food, automotive, and entertainment industries. My work has garnered 5 Effie Award nominations and 1 Gold win.”
