GOOGLE MAPS TARGETS NEW YORKERS WITH REAL-TIME DATA IN OUTDOOR PUSH

Google is using real-time data in an #outdoor campaign across New York to promote a new set of Google Maps features designed to help people find things to do and places to eat in their neighborhood.

Digital outdoor ads, which are running in Manhattan and Brooklyn, feature copy based on real-time results for what’s trending in each neighborhood; for example pizza slices in Brooklyn or coffee in Long Island City. What’s displayed is also based on the time of day and current weather.

The campaign aims to bring to life unique moments across the different neighborhoods of NYC, and encourage people to discover new things in each place, based-on Google ratings and trend data, using the Google Maps’ redesigned “Explore” feature. Every #billboard in the campaign is uniquely linked to a bespoke list within the new Google Maps Explore feature, showcasing the places you might not know around the neighborhood — even if you live there.

Creative for the campaign is by Anomaly, while digital outdoor production is by Grand Visual.
