Projection Mapping on Washington Monument Celebrates Apollo 11 Anniversary

This is an amazing full motion projection mapping displayed on the Washington Monument in DC last week.  It uses the Monument as the screen showing the story and key moments of the Apollo 11 travel to, landing on and return from the moon. This is stellar stuff. Great video and audio. It was much stronger in person. Strongly recommend you watch.  Start at the 8:33 mark to see the beginning of the actual projections.

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, in collaboration with U.S. Department of the Interior and the award-winning creative company known as 59 Productions, staged an impressive projection mapping show on the Washington Monument last week to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.  Provided by FOX 10 Phoenix.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the National Air and Space Museum launched a projection of the 363-foot Saturn V rocket off the Washington Monument.
