We recently published our annual list of the Top Women Driving Growth in Out-of-Home (OOH) for 2025. Today, we are highlighting Adriane Youngblood, Regional Director of Sales, Southwest Region, Clear Channel Outdoor

Adriane Youngblood has been with CCO for 20 years, starting as a Senior Sales Executive and advancing to her current role as Regional Director of Sales for the Southwest Region. Before that, she started at Clear Channel Radio as an Account Executive. One of her main strengths is problem-solving.  For the past five years, she has volunteered on the Board of Directors of Friends of Public Radio in Arizona. She received her B.A. in advertising from the University of Houston. The most valuable resources in her career have been her mentors, coaches, and champions.

She first became interested in out-of-home advertising while taking an Ad Campaigns class during her studies in Advertising at the University of Houston. She was tasked with identifying and dissecting active advertising campaigns in the market.

“Nearly every campaign that I studied was Outdoor, which was prophetic, because three years later I launched my career in OOH in Sacramento,” Adriane said.

Elevating the Perspective on OOH’s Role

Adriane says her mission is to elevate and advance the perspective on the role that OOH plays in a media mix, one conversation at a time.

“Regardless of a person’s background or industry, everyone has an opinion about billboards,” Adriane said. “They live in the physical world and are the purest form of advertising media.”

She loves to hear different points of view and to share what is new and possible in the industry. But her greatest success has been spreading the passion for OOH to her teams and watching their careers thrive.

Like many others, her greatest professional challenge was during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“In the OOH industry, we’re very comfortable in the luxury of having a stable, and typically growing audience, so this was completely foreign for all of us,” Adriane said. “If there was any good to come from that horrible situation, I believe that it caused us all to sit up a little straighter, dive in deeper to understanding our audiences, and build stronger trusted relationships with our clients and teams.”

Adriane’s favorite campaign was when The Dump opened their Houston showroom in 2003. They ran a tease and reveal campaign on one printed bulletin. It had an image of a happy/relaxed woman on a chaise lounge with a glass of wine and the simple tagline “Just been dumped…” A few weeks later, the tag was updated to “The Dump Furniture Outlet- Now Open.”

“I loved it because of the juxtaposition of the tag versus image, only to be revealed later that it was the chaise lounge that was the star of the show!” Adriane said.

 Promoting Women in OOH

Adriane feels tremendously fortunate to have received leadership and mentorship from incredible men and women in the OOH industry. They have been her champions and role models along the way. But more needs to be done.

“It’s critical that we continue to include more diverse voices and perspectives in our industry if we would like to continue to evolve and grow. I’m grateful for the women that have paved the path that I’m on,” Adriane said.

Women still face a social imbalance in that they are often in caretaker roles. This places more pressure on women to take a step back from their careers. Adriane encourages women to advocate for their goals and needs both at home and at work.

“I work hard to stay self-aware and introspective when working with my colleagues and recruiting new employees. It’s my top priority that we have a diverse team that is representative of the communities that we serve,” Adriane said.

She believes that the growth of women in leadership roles is already making a massive impact on the industry. CCO introduced a paid parental leave policy a few years ago, which she sees as a major advancement for the organization and the industry. It ensures women and men with children can continue advancing at the same pace as those without. She can name quite a few outstanding women in the industry that can and should move into executive leadership roles.

“Promote/hire them!” Adriane says.

The Future of OOH

To get a larger share of total ad spend, Adriane says we need to stop hanging our hat on CPM efficiency. “Our average CPM is so low that it’s embarrassing.  Our product guarantees exposure and has great value,” Adriane said. She would also love for there to be more unity among OOH Operators.
Adriane believes the future of OOH is in measurement, enhanced audience targeting and digital automation.
“I’m energized by the path that the industry is headed towards: ease in planning smarter, activating faster, and delivering measurable results,” Adriane said.
