OOH Agency Today – Jacob Tyler
Their Creative Kicks Ass and Takes Names

Jacob Tyler turns 18 this year – which means they can vote, go to R-rated movies and drink legally (in Mexico). It also means that they’ve been around the block a few times, thriving for nearly two decades in an industry defined by constant change and fleeting success. Put simply, they know what they’re doing.

They’re a fun and dedicated group of seasoned creative professionals. They’re experienced. They’re honest – sometimes to a fault. They’re good – no, great at what they do. And they’re fun to hang out with. You’ll like them.

We had the chance to ask Jacob Tyler’s CEO, Les Kollegian, a few questions about his company. Here’s what he had to say:

Interview with Les Kollegian, CEO at Jacob Tyler

Will Farmer: How long have you been in business? Staffing? Size? Specialties? Billing? Regional Offices?

Les Kollegian: Jacob Tyler is a global integrated brand experience agency. At Jacob Tyler, we deliver creative experiences and marketing strategies that amplify your brand’s reach, breed customer loyalty – and drive business growth. Founded in 2000 in San Diego, California, we have a staff of 40 specializing in brand development, positioning, website design and development, traditional and ongoing digital marketing.

WF: What would you like the OOH Industry to know about your shop?

LS: Every team member has over 10 years of experience in our organization, and we operate fast and furious to get the job done efficiently and effectively.

WF: Do you work with clients directly and/or through agencies? What is the percentage breakdown?

LS: Most of the work we do is directly with clients. However, sometimes an agency will reach out for creative support and we are always willing to help the best we can.

WF: Any comments or suggestions for OOH reps in approaching or working with your company?

LS: Be prepared for complete honesty. We are not afraid to tell you when you have spinach caught in your teeth. We only do the work if we believe it is going to work.

WF: What is your most memorable new business pitch?

LS: YMCA. At the time we were very small, and they wanted to see that we were a large agency. We could do the work and the amount of people that we staffed internally didn’t matter. So, for our big pitch, we invited all of our friends to come work for 2 hours in our office for free lunch. We had about 30 people show up with their laptops and it impressed the client. We won the account, and all went well.

WF: What differentiates your business from others?

LS: We ONLY have seniors doing the work. Period. Most agencies have the seniors sell and the juniors manage and execute. This leads in many cases to wasted time, money, and upset clients. Every client also has direct cell access to the team and CEO. (We’re also better looking…ha ha!)

WF: Please share new business contact information.

LS: Les@jacobtyler.com

WF: Discuss some OOH campaigns by Jacob Tyler. Any memorable or particularly interesting campaigns you could share?

LS: We have done campaigns in many different verticals including consumer goods, hospitality/casinos, services, attractions and more.
