It is one of the oldest, yet still most effective embellishments to a #billboard—the mannequin. This most recent execution last week in Wilmington, North Carolina for advertiser, ‘All Above Roofing’. It looks like someone is hanging for his life from the billboard catwalk. With ladder showing the full height of the #OOH face, it’s a convincing image seizing drivers’ attention.
The design might have been the give away with the scrambled shingles and copy, nevertheless ‘responsible citizens’ phoned in the ‘perilous situation. as reported by ‘local TV news’ (WECT TV6 ) who managed to obtain the emergency 911 calls. Listen to the calls ⇒ the 911 calls via WECT.
OOH Today’s strong recommendation, when displaying any creative which may create Emergency 911 calls, notify the appropriate authorities prior to the install. That’s fire, law enforcement, Forestry Department.
