For today’s GeekOUT Fast Fact, let’s take a look into some of these data points and check out the sixteenth largest DMA in the country, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale.

First, let’s look at who is spending in OOH within the DMA for Q1 of 2021. See below for the top spenders for January through March of this year.

It’s interesting to note that Allstate holds the first position on the top ten OOH spender list. As mentioned in a previous Friday Fast Fact Allstate was the top OOH spender across the top DMAs listed in Kantar. Additionally, there is another top ten OOH spender in Comcast, which held the third position for Q1 in Miami, and ninth across the top DMAs. According to Kantar data for 2020, Comcast was actually the top OOH spender within Miami across the previous four quarters, showing its continued consistency in utilizing 12,000+ unique OOH frames Geopath audits across 39 different members.

With a population of over 4.7 million, and 52% of all commuting trips within the DMA taking 30 minutes or more, it shouldn’t be surprising advertisers are continuing to take advantage of OOH, reaching audiences while they move about their days. According to Geopath Insights, the OOH within the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA generates 1.2 billion impressions each week!

Additionally, during April, mobility data indicated that average daily miles traveled for those within the DMA was nearly equal to metrics during the same period of 2019! As people return to normal activities post COVID, OOH is poised to be the perfect advertising medium within the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA to engage with a variety of different audiences.
