How OOH is an Essential Business
Earning the Right to be Identified as an Essential Business
by Robert Arnold, President at Associated Posters, Inc (api)
Seems like every week there is a new challenge. This week, for my employees and I, it is a stay at home order for North Carolina. This has brought up the discussion of “essential business” with several of my print friends and my employees. Are we essential? Yes we are, but only if we use our powers for good.
Out of home and print are essential businesses. To some though, it is a way to exploit the system and increase their bottom line. Now is the time we all need to do some soul searching and show everyone why we are an essential business. Sometimes just because we can, doesn’t mean we should. At API, we will keep our production going as long as we have essential content to print or products to make. I will not jeopardize the health and safety of my staff just to turn a quick buck. The term, essential business is not a get out of jail free card.
If you are giving concessions to small business then
I will offer concessions on print as well.
Let’s see what we can do. We have several campaigns going out this week. We are also using some of our staff and finishing equipment to make plastic face shields to donate to local medical facilities in need. I would like to also offer this up to you: If you are giving concessions to small business then I will offer concessions on print as well. If you are donating space for virus information then we will as well. Let’s do everything we can to earn our title as an essential business.
Stay smart and stay safe.
