Hanging in: Afternoon Sessions, Buntin and Freetail

Count Down to Conference OOH GO2018

Count Down to Conference

7 days to the Number 1 OOH Conference in the World

GO2018 is the premier event in Out of Home.

May 8, Tuesday afternoon at the OOH Conference.

The afternoon at GO2018 will have four sessions running simultaneously in four separate 45 minute time slots. From the look of the speakers and topics, every session appears to be ‘the one’ you must attend.  Unfortunately, of the 12 total sessions, none repeat.  Pick well. There are strong topics and speakers. Learn and enjoy.  Here is the agenda for the conference ⇒ GO2018 Agenda

The first four sessions start at 1:15PM and run through 2:00PM. Then four more take place at 2:00PM – 2:45PM, a third set of four begin at 3:15PM wrapping up at 4:00PM.  Finally at the 4:00PM – 4:45PM time slot, only two sessions will be offered.  By this time of day,  everyone is ‘ducking out’, catching up on phone calls and emails or starting their cocktail hour.

Before you skip the last 45 minutes of the Conference, consider the two sessions which are offered and make a commitment to ‘hanging to the end’ making one of these sessions as well attended as any of the first four which started earlier in the afternoon.

At Lone Star Ballroom F, Dylan Mabin of Geopath heads up an All Star A Team including Matthew Martimo, Intermx, Gary Greenstein, Vector Media and Dave Pidgeon, Stickerride to discuss Fleet Measurement. The importance of Fleet OOH measurement is valuable as budgets for the category increase every year. Whether you’re in fleet or not, its measurement affects all in OOH.

The  other concurrent 4 PM session, is led by Buntin Out-of-Home Media’s new EVP/Managing Director, Mark Young.  Young’s experience with Darden Restaurants, Ruby Tuesday and MAPCO Convenience Stores, gives him insights to the very topic he will be heading, The Evolution of Local Specialists. Local sales still lead the industry in revenue. I am going out on limb here and guess Young has not been to our Annual Industry Conference before. All the more reason you should attend his session to “hang with a local” expert and genuinely welcome Young.  Sorry ‘Fleet Measurement’.

Freetail Brewing is a San Antonio based beer who’s named from the Mexican Free-tailed Bat which is the Official Flying Mammal of Texas. There is estimated nearly 30 million Freetail bats in the San Antonio area.  This bulletin was nominated for an Obie.

Will the Freetail campaign still be ‘hanging to the end’ of the evening when the top awards are announced?  Let’s hope so.

More on Free-Tailed Bats

See Free-Tailed Bats while in Austin. ⇐Click here for where to visit Austin Bats. From March to October (typically), 1.5 million bats emerge nightly from narrow but deep crevices in the underside of the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. They usually start to emerge from the bridge around 20 minutes before sundown. In May, the 6th is 8:12, 7th and 8th is 8:13 p.m.
