1. Burger King Hijacks McDonald’s OOH Campaign
Burger King playfully blocked a McDonald’s Big Arch billboard with a branded digital van declaring the Whopper has been “ruling the grill since 1954.” The mobile stunt, a nod to BK’s history of rivalry campaigns, positioned the Whopper as the seasoned challenger to McDonald’s new Big Arch burger.

2. ArtPop’s Upcycled Fashion Show Returns in September
ArtPop Street Gallery’s 5th annual Upcycled Fashion Show is set for September 6th at Blume Studios in Charlotte. Featuring 15 designers creating runway looks from retired billboard vinyls, the event supports local artists and promotes sustainability. As ArtPop’s main fundraiser, the show helps fund year-round programs and diverts over 13,400 sq. ft. of vinyl from landfills. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

3. Jamie Oliver–Backed Group Slams OOH Giants for Pulling Anti–Junk Food Ads
Jamie Oliver–supported youth group Bite Back has criticized outdoor ad giants JCDecaux and Global for pulling its award-winning anti–junk food poster campaign just days before launch. The posters, which declared “We’ve bought this ad space so the junk food giants couldn’t,” were initially approved and CAP Code–compliant, but Bite Back claims they were pulled for hitting “too close to home.”

4. WOO Launches Women in WOO Network
The World Out of Home Organization has launched Women in WOO, a global network to connect, mentor, and support women in the OOH industry. The initiative includes a mentorship program for senior female leaders, events at WOO Congresses, and an Advisory Board of top women leaders to guide its mission.
