Geopath has compiled OOH advertising spend data for Q1 of 2021 sourced from Kantar, as well as DMA infographics for all 200+ DMA across the country. These insights, along with many more, are available to Geopath members within the GeekOUT Library.

For today’s GeekOUT Fast Fact, let’s review some of these data points in a market we last touched on in July of 2020. The seventeenth largest DMA in the country, Denver, CO.

First, let’s look at who is spending in OOH within the DMA for Q1 of 2021. See below for the top spenders for January through March of this year.

To begin, the top ten OOH spenders within the “Mile High” City are split between four industries: government, real estate, insurance, and financial.  The financial and insurance sectors have the most representation within the top ten with three organizations representing each industry, respectively. Additionally, it’s interesting to note that the Colorado State Lottery is the top OOH spender within the DMA in Q1, continuing its trend of being the top OOH spender in 2020 as well.

According to Geopath Insights, there are over 10,800 OOH frames measured by Geopath within the Denver DMA, which generate 500 million impressions each week! With a population of over 4.7 million, and 40% of all commuting trips within the DMA taking 30 minutes or more, it shouldn’t be surprising advertisers are taking advantage of OOH in Denver, reaching local audiences while they move about their day.
