Daktronics and Circle City Outdoor Strengthen Community Connections
with New Digital Billboard in Lonsdale, Minnesota

BROOKINGS, S.D. and LONSDALE, Minn. – Daktronics (NASDAQ: DAKT), the world leader in audiovisual communication systems, has partnered once again with Circle City Outdoor to deliver a new digital billboard in Lonsdale, Minnesota. This installation marks Circle City Outdoor’s second Daktronics digital display, reinforcing a partnership built on performance, reliability and long-term value.

Located along Highway 19, the new digital LED display provides a high-visibility platform for messages designed to resonate with residents and travelers alike, supporting local businesses, community events and information relevant to the area. Circle City Outdoor specializes in smaller and rural markets, where digital billboards play a meaningful role in connecting people with the places they live, work and support.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Performance

Circle City Outdoor selected Daktronics for its second digital billboard after a positive experience with its first installation. According to Fredrickson, the relationship is defined by trust, support and confidence in long-term performance and reliability of the products – key factors when making capital investments in competitive OOH markets.

“The proof is really in performance,” said Duane Fredrickson, partner at Circle City Outdoor. “What matters is how the display performs day in and day out, and how the company stands behind it. We do what we say we’re going to do, and Daktronics does the same. That consistency and reliability made it an easy decision to choose Daktronics again.”

That dependability was especially important as Circle City Outdoor worked through an extended permitting process for the Lonsdale location. Daktronics supported the project throughout the journey, reinforcing the trust built during previous collaborations.

“Permitting can be one of the most challenging parts of any digital billboard project, especially in smaller communities,” Fredrickson added. “Having a partner like Daktronics that understands the process and stands with you throughout it makes a real difference.”

Digital Messaging with a Community First Focus

While digital billboards are powerful advertising tools, Circle City Outdoor views them as more than revenue‑generating assets. In communities like Lonsdale, the company prioritizes messaging that reflects local identity, promoting hometown businesses, sharing community‑focused information and helping small towns stay visible to passing audiences.

“Highway 19 is a river of commerce,” Fredrickson said. “You don’t need everyone to stop. Just a small percentage will make a big impact. Digital gives local businesses that opportunity.”

By showcasing advertisers and messages rooted in the community, the Lonsdale display helps reinforce local connections while ensuring the content feels relevant and authentic to residents and visitors alike.

Looking Ahead

This second Daktronics display represents another step in Circle City Outdoor’s long-term growth strategy, with digital technology playing a central role in future expansion. As advertiser demand continues to grow for high-quality, reliable digital displays, Circle City Outdoor plans to continue investing in technology that delivers consistent results.

“Daktronics is the kind of partner that just does things right,” Fredrickson said.
“That matters when you’re building something meant to last.”
