on Vaccination Messaging
Stars of UK urge ethnic minority communities to get the Covid vaccine
Last Thursday, February 18, the major television broadcasters of the UK came together in an “unprecedented television broadcast at this crucial time” touting the importance of minorities receiving the Covid-19 vaccination. Official figures identify people from ethnic minorities are less likely to get vaccinated.
Clear Channel Outdoor UK supported the launch of an independent video campaign that very day, urging ethnic minority communities to #TakeTheVaccine. The video featured stars such as Adil Ray, Denise Lewis, David Olusoga, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal, Romesh Ranganathan, Shobna Gulati, Beverley Knight and Moeen Ali, (right, I don’t know any of them either) who will address the unique cultural challenges & concerns around the vaccine in minority communities.
The video aired at 9.56 PM across 4 networks ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, and Sky, in what was called an unprecedented TV moment. Clear Channel amplified the campaign across their digital Out of Home (#DOOH) sites nationwide.
William Eccleshare, Worldwide CEO, Clear Channel Outdoor, said: “Out of Home advertising provides the unique opportunity to publicly engage audiences with tailored messaging placed directly within targeted communities. As vaccine hesitancy is such a crucial issue to the UK’s recovery, we immediately offered our support to this important campaign.”
