1. Kevin Jones, New CEO, On The Future Of Adams Outdoor

Kevin Jones was announced as Adams Outdoor’s CEO this past May, taking over from former CEO Kevin Gleason. Jones came to his CEO role at Adams Outdoor with over 30 years of technology industry experience, including CEO roles at four companies. Though this is his first role in OOH, he feels like he’s been training for this role his whole life. He shares some of his future plans for Adams and says his common theme is running ambitious businesses that want to grow fast.

2. OOH Spend Forecast To $45.3bn In 2024

The 2024 WOO Expenditure survey captures global OOH spending for 2023 and estimates what will happen in 2024. It is conducted using a short questionnaire and builds on data each year back to 2019.
109 members completed this year’s survey. In 2023 Global OOH spend reached $41.9bn USD and represented 5.2% of global ADEX. This breaks through the $40bn barrier, the 5% barrier, and is much higher than 2019’s $36.3bn in revenue. This year OOH spend is forecasted to grow to 45.3bn USD.
B.B.’s Take: Nice graphics and fun conclusions from the numbers. But still very very unimpressive. Putting lipstick on the pig. Look I know it is WOO’s and the other ‘Associations’ obligation to keep as positive a narrative about the Industry as possible. That’s their job. Nice, fun and lipstick don’t cut it. Ours is to tell it like it is. That’s why you read us every day and we appreciate it.
3. DPAA Initial Speakers For NYC Global Summit

DPAA, the global trade marketing association, driving the growth and digitization of out-of-home (OOH) media and its growing role in the Omnichannel mix, has announced speakers for its Global Summit this october in NYC. Confirmed speakers include Shenan Reed, Global Chief Media Officer, GM; Mike Salette, Head of Media, Danone; Andrea Suarez, Global CEO, UM; Stephanie Helen Scheller, Managing Partner, Sustainable Solutions, Omnicom Media Group. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
B.B.’s Take: There are two OOH related conferences that are MUST ATTEND. This is one of them. The other is the annual OAAA Conference the next to be held in Boston May of 2025. . All the others? Put your time and money to better use.
