Cox Media, Leslie Outdoor & Spartan Outdoor divest to Trailhead Media
Williamson Brokers Deal for Sellers
Marty Williamson, Principal for Williamson & Associates has shared with OOH Today, three recent transactions in the acquisition of assets in Georgia and South Carolina to Trailhead Media. Williamson and his team represented the companies with the divestiture of digital and static locations.
The breakdown was as follows.
Cox Media divested assets in Easley, South Carolina. Spartan Outdoor Advertising assets divested in Spartanburg, SC and Leslie assets were from Georgia. All three OOH companies aforementioned assets went to Trailhead Media.
A few details about the divesting companies.
Cox Media was formed in 2015 by Kerry Cox, an industry veteran who began his career in Out of Home in 1991. Prior to starting Cox Media, Kerry spent his entire career with Naegele/Fairway, and was the Corporate Sales Development Director from 2013 to 2015. Kerry and his wife, Julia, are looking forward to retirement and more time with family and friends.
Leslie Outdoor is owned by John and Faye Leslie. John started his career in outdoor in 1998 and grew his first company to 260 faces in 17 Georgia counties. In 2012, the Leslies began developing new locations in middle Georgia with a focus on quality digital sites. John and Faye are now ready to relax and enjoy their grandchildren.
Spartan Outdoor
Lon Hatcher found his way to the Out of Home industry almost accidentally. With no Out of Home experience, other than making artwork for a local billboard company, Lon decided to build a location that the local company had turned down; hence, Spartan Outdoor was born. Lon successfully grew the business to what it is today, including one of the best locations in the market (next to Westgate Mall in Spartanburg, SC) that was converted to digital last year. Lon is now excited to be pursuing other business interests.
Williamson has had a hot month. In another recent transaction, he assisted Robert Spratlin at Spratlin Outdoor Media with the sale of the majority of his assets to Horton Outdoor. Located primarily on Interstate 75 north of Atlanta, these bulletin locations were a great addition to the Horton inventory in North GA and not far from Horton’s corporate headquarters in Cartersville, GA. Robert Spratlin will now be free to focus on his other business interests.
