Mark Boidman recently spoke at the GO2018 Geopath/ OAAA OOH Conference this week  We met with the PJ Solomon Managing Director, who is also Head of Media Services, Media & Tech Investment Banking at the GO2018 OOH Conference and we struck a conversation.

Mark is a great guy of course, and a brilliant expert on media and tech investing. His knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and private equity is superior. Boidman recently wrote a book.  The title:

 Times Square Everywhere the Next Wave in the Changing Media Landscape.

We read it and we recommend it. Both Jeremy Male, CEO Outfront Media  and Jean-Francois Decaux, Co-CEO of JCDecaux, who endorsed the book, are correct to be positive about it  We would like to go with a deeper recommendation.

Male is correct it is a primer, but don’t think in simple terms of ‘this is a billboard and this is a bus shelter basics of OOH”.  To our surprise, Boidman’s depth in defining most of the current questions in OOH such as the impact of media and location-based marketing, attribution, engagement and proximity marketing just to share a few, are right on target.  If you have had any questions on the latest changes to OOH and what they mean, like the growing role and impact of Mobile to OOH or deeper dives to retail tech, trends and digital signage, this is a must read.  The graphics, charts and tables are easy to follow and informative.

At first we were sussed only about giving away free books. Now in addition to giving away books. We are equally stoked about sharing because of the valuable insights for everyone in OOH.

OOH Today receives nothing for promoting Boidman’s book. We don’t need Boidman’s recommendations to help our stock price or have any other reason to endorse, other than, we think its worth the time. The cost is minor. Buy a copy.
