World Out of Home Organization’s First Africa Forum
The World Out of Home Organization’s first Africa Forum, to be held virtually on Thursday, February 3, will provide the most in-depth focus to date on the Africa Out of Home market and its place in the global industry.
The Forum is the third in WOO’s World Tour, which began in Europe then visited Asia and culminates with WOO’s in-person Global Congress in Toronto from May 25-27. The Africa Forum has an extensive line-up of speakers from Africa and outside, covering all aspects of the Africa OOH industry and its place in the wider media market.

The keynote is an interview between OMG General Manager Celia Collins and WOO President Tom Goddard. Ben Milne, Head of Out of Home at Amplify Global, the supply side platform of dentsu International, will put African OOH in a global context followed by Jacques Du Preez of Provantage Media with an African market overview.
Greg Benetar, Group Director of Alliance Media, present in over 50 African countries, will discuss investment in the African OOH industry and the various issues confronting it in the future including regulation and devaluing currencies.
There will be a panel on Audience Measurement with GROOH’s Gideon Adey, Trish Guilford from the Out of Home Measurement Council (OMC) in Africa and Jorja Wilkins of Primedia Outdoor. This will be followed by Pikasso founder Antonio Vincenti on the need for Standardization of OOH Formats across Africa.
A panel from Broadsign, Pikasso and Tractor Outdoor will examine progress in Automation and Programmatic and JCDecaux Africa Country Managers Jennifer Kachabe and Thato Pekeche will present ‘Sustainability – A shared responsibility’.
WOO President Tom Goddard says: “The Africa Forum is a true highlight of the WOO World Tour. We have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from all parts of the industry and the immense enthusiasm for the medium in this great continent. Out of Home is recovering strongly worldwide from the effects of the pandemic, although, sadly, some are still with us. The Africa Forum will be a rallying cry for the industry here and a true indication that OOH in Africa is now playing an important role on the world stage.”
This WOO event is free to any employee of our members, but non-members will also be able to register for €150 Euros. For further information: contact Richard Saturley at richard@worldooh.org
