We logged a few miles last week starting Monday the 10th, in NYC at the fabulous DPAA Summit 2022. We then wrapped up on Thursday, the 13th, speaking at the Outdoor Advertising Association of Illinois Annual Conference, in beautiful downtown Napierville, IL.
The DPAA left it all out on the field, borrowing a sports phrase. It was perhaps the best of DPAA Summits, of the last half dozen of these I have attended over the years. Taking a few pages, ok, the entire book, which Barry Frey and the DPAA crew have written on hosting an event is something I wish ‘other OOH Conferences’ would take in consideration.
Of the many highlights at the Summit, more coming out on the event later, the folks at ADKOM produced a deck of cards, 54 total, named ‘The Pantheon of OOH‘. The cards featured top OOH peeps with a NYC concentration. Less than 150 decks were produced. This is a promotional piece which apparently is a hot item in the ad community. We will be giving away a deck or two in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for the OOH Today/ADKOM giveaway.
Of the dozens of State Outdoor Association conferences I have been fortunate to attend over the last 40+ years, the folks in Illinois ran a stellar event. I was fortunate to have the podium to discuss the State of OOH. Thank you Rose Trader, Executive Director of the OAAI, Chair Ted Bratsos of All Steel Structures and old pal, Todd Sanders, of Chicago Billboards, who hosted the program.
