Friday Fast Fact – OOH in Kansas: The State by Numbers
For today’s Fast Fact, let’s take a look at some OOH statistics across Kansas’ 105 counties!

Geographically speaking, Kansas is the most central place in the contiguous United States (the “lower 48” states). In fact, a small marker two miles outside of Lebanon, KS marks the precise central point of the continental US, as defined by the US Geological Survey!
At the state level, Geopath audits over 9,000 spots, with inventory coming from 25 different operators! In the state, there is a total population of 1.2 million.
Here are a few great potential audience segments to be aware of in the state! Nearly 64% of the state’s population reports that they have been to a Quick Service Restaurant to eat in the past 30-days, and 42% have been to a sit-down restaurant in the same time period. According to Geopath Insights Data, there are more wine drinkers in the state than beer drinkers, at 36% of the population versus 29%, respectively!
Approximately 10% of the population report that they have been to a ticketed music event in the past 12-months, 16% to a theme park, 15% to the zoo, and 22% to a casino. Of the 1.2 million Kansans in the state, 16% report that they have been biking, 13% have been hiking/backpacking, and 13% have been camping in the past 12 months. Additionally, 32% report that they regularly attend religious services.
In the coming 12 months, 29% of the population report that they have plans to go on a family vacation, and 22% plan to do some home remodeling.
