OOH Company Today – True Impact Media

Efficient, Flexible, & Smart

by Will Farmer
Media and Communications Manager, OOH Today

True Impact Media is a team of advertisers, technologists, and big fans of outdoor advertising. Despite all of that, they’re frustrated by the OOH searching & buying process, so they decided to do something about it.

In today’s marketing world where technology is king, True Impact is paving the way to change how Outdoor Ad Media can be bought. That is why they chose to create a Technology Company, with the purpose of developing a universal OOH Media Buying Platform.

Buying OOH media on your own is typically cumbersome and exhausting. Keeping track of quotes from multiple vendors and finding the best placements for your business can be much more targeted and data-driven when using the True Impact Media Platform.

They make Out-of-Home Media Buying simple and there is no better way to execute a billboard advertising campaign than using the True Impact Platform. True Impact is efficient, flexible, & smart, and they’re built to help manage every aspect of your OOH advertising campaign.

We had the opportunity to ask Q Beck, president at True Impact Media, a few questions about his company. Here’s what Q had to say:

Interview with Q Beck, President at True Impact Media

Will Farmer: Please tell us about True Impact Media. How long have you been in business? Staffing? Size? Specialties? Billing? Regional Offices?

Q Beck: True Impact Media is a tech-driven and client focused team of OOH enthusiasts. We’re obsessed with helping brands and agencies improve their OOH by providing an innovative platform, proprietary data, and industry expertise. We simplify and automate everything from the planning to the attribution of OOH, for both static and digital in the US and internationally. We’re headquartered in Austin, Texas and launched in 2015.

Will Farmer: Tell us why True Impact Media was started.

QB: The short answer is we’re huge champions of OOH and believe brands and agencies more than ever need powerful, yet easy to use tools, to make each unique marketing channel succeed. The longer and more interesting answer is our CEO and founder, Michael Marston, has literally spent hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising at the handful of companies he founded over the past 2 decades, (most notably Art.com), but experienced challenges buying OOH. The level of effort and inadequate tools available made the decision far too easy to dedicate marketing dollars to alternate channels. He always believed outdoor advertising should have taken a larger percentage of the budget and has harnessed his passion for tech and marketing to help brands use the potential of OOH.

WF: What would you like brands and the OOH Industry to know about your shop?

QB: At True Impact we are solely focused on outdoor advertising. We strongly believe specialized channel knowledge is critical in today’s hyper-competitive environment. We provide brands and agencies a platform to increase the speed of OOH buys, while at the same time providing insightful and digestible data to increase campaign effectiveness. Because we remove all the traditional pain points typically associated with OOH, we give brands and agencies an easy path to increase OOH in their marketing mix. We love helping our clients unlock the power of outdoor advertising, and through our results we’ve built many long-term relationships.

WF: Do you work with clients directly and/or through agencies?

QB: Coming from the brand world, we designed our initial platform for brands to buy OOH in-house, so most of our business is brand direct. However, some brands have asked their agencies to use our platform for their OOH buys. We recently developed a product suite for smaller and mid-sized agencies that don’t have OOH expertise, to make sure they can offer their clients OOH.

WF: Any comments or suggestions for OOH reps in approaching or working with your company?

QB: We want to work with you! Our shared goal is to sell as much OOH as efficiently as possible. We make it easy to get your inventory in front of clients as quickly and painlessly as possible. Every operator we work with can use our free platform to respond to RFPs, confirm buys, track creative and upload proof of performance.

WF: What is your most memorable new business pitch.

QB: A SaaS software company contacted us because they had a seven-figure budget remaining which they had to “use or lose” prior to the end of the year. They wanted to target 15 cities in 4 countries. The challenge was they contacted us in mid-December. With the help of our great operator partners and streamlined tooling, we pulled it off and the client had a great campaign go live within 3 days, on hundreds of pieces of inventory, both static and digital, across the globe!

WF: What differentiates your business from others?

QB: This might sound odd, but our company is mostly comprised of tech and marketing nerds solving the untechy side of OOH. Whether it’s getting live availability, managing printing, organizing proof of performance, or streamlining the entire process, it’s all aligned with our goal to provide clients the ability to buy OOH as easily as buying Google or Facebook ads. While a client can self-serve and use our planning and proprietary data to make great buys, we also have an amazing team of industry experts who can help strategize and provide hands-on support. This combination leads to faster execution, better campaigns and improved results.

WF: How do you obtain new business?

QB: We have a healthy mix of inbound and outbound efforts. Our goal is to be the best OOH buyer for every client. That passion and expertise leads to a lot of referrals.

WF: Please share new business contact information.
