My insurance company sends me a Thanksgiving Card with an appreciation of being their client as opposed to a Christmas holiday card.   This makes a great impact because this is the only card I receive in November versus the pile of cards that show up next month.  This explains my message today, stand apart by offering your customers some gratitude when least expected.

I realize Thanksgiving is only two weeks away….you don’t have to do this for every client but when was the last time you dropped a letter in the mail to a client?   Didn’t you have a few clients that helped get you over your second and third quarters?  You know, the ones that pay their bills on time.

Just a simple note, NOT a NOVEL!
“Wishing you and your family a warm and joyous Thanksgiving. We are grateful to be part of your advertising program and look forward to working together in 2023.”

Or perhaps,
“As the year is drawing to a close, I wanted you to know the appreciation I have for the business you bring my way.  Thank you and have a safe holiday season.

Make it PERSONAL !

Include something specific for each customer, especially a photo of their creative.  If you don’t have one, put in an order with FotoFetch and we will go fetch it for you today.  There is no excuse for not making your notes and cards personal and unique. Avoid the generic card, the deluge of junk that feels insincere because everyone else is doing the same thing.

I am not advocating doing away with December greetings; I’m just suggesting you could get ahead of everyone else in more than one way.  Make it personal and avoid the crush.   Just think, when you add a photo, it gives you a chance to lead into a phone call with the ideas you might have for the coming year.

As for me, I wish you all the best, and thank you for giving your valuable time to read this and my other posts.  I’m always willing to talk OOH, photography, and tips and tricks for increasing your sales.
