Lewis Manderson Jr. OOH Legend
Industry Legend Lewis Manderson Jr.
Lewis Manderson, an Billboard advertising icon, a World War II combat veteran, founder of an out of home media company Creative Displays, former chair of the OAAA and OOH Hall of Fame member, passed away May 5.
I never met Lewis Manderson, but felt his capable hand on the Industry through his former employees and other OOH professionals, particularly those in the Southeast part of the Country. As a former resident, living and working in OOH in Atlanta for 10 years, I was introduced to hundreds of Manderson disciples, many who never actually met the man but spoke of him and his leadership in Outdoor Advertising.
Lewis Manderson leaves us at 95 years old, his legacy and contributions live on in the billboard industry.
