The 2023 OAAA/Geopath Conference in Nashville is just around the corner, so for today’s Fast Fact, let’s take a look at some stats on the Music City!
Nashville’s importance in American culture and the arts cannot be overstated. In many ways, Nashville is an architectural marvel as well! Around the city, you can find beautiful examples of design in its buildings and landmarks. From the many music halls, to the AT&T building (that looks a bit like the Tower of Sauron), various architectural motifs and movements can be found throughout.
But did you know that Nashville is home to one of the few examples of Egyptian Revival architecture left in the United States? The Downtown Presbyterian Church, completed in 1851, is one of fewer than 50 remaining buildings in the US built in this style. Replete with grand columns and bright colors, the building was registered as a National Historic Landmark in 1993.
Let’s take a look at the newest geekOUT market infographic for the Nashville DMA.
Based on the statistics in the above infographic, there is a large presence of family households in this market! Here, 2/3 of households have children, and 1/3 of households have at least one person under 18. In this market, a vast majority of commuters drive themselves to work, with 2 out of 5 people driving 30 minutes or more!
When looking at the top OOH Spenders within the market, you’ll note a varied group of categories represented here. Along with its fame as Music City, Nashville is revered for amazing food and local delicacies. Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) rank among the top OOH spenders in the DMA, as does the tourism sector.
