Love this video snippet below from a learning module produced by Gannet Outdoor (now OUTFRONT). It asks the million dollar question, ‘Does it work as a poster?’
At the time of the video’s production, the discussion was focusing on creating an effective poster design.
Today, we are rephrasing and recharacterizing the question as ‘Does the poster still work?‘
What is the success of a poster?
Are posters still lagging behind in sales occupancy and revenue?
Has the digital bulletin and poster size digitals supplanted the poster’s use and popularity?
Are posters less effective?
Finally, are poster panels dead as an OOH format?
The video, part of a larger series, was created back in the early 1980s. A precursor or forecast on the status of the poster today? Perhaps.

We know Todd Hansen you are a man of tremendous OOH managerial and sales skills. Glad to hear the poster is not dead for you. But what about in other markets where superman or woman are not running the plant? Posters a struggle there?
