Sharing for a Friend

Our friend Jock Gibb was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) in 2020. Initially, the only course of treatment was chemo and a stem cell transplant. Fortunately, he’s been lucky enough to get into a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston with the leading research oncologist, Dr. Michael Wang who’s pioneered MCL research and has brought new treatments to market over the past decade.  Jock is the first of 20 other people in the study and the results have been remarkable. These results are paving the way for others who will no longer lose months of their life recovering from stem cell transplants and the effects of chemo.

We (Jock’s friends and co-workers) have put together a fundraiser to support further research. We are hosting a huge golf tournament on November 4 with a goal to raise $100k to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All money will go towards cutting-edge research.

One study, in particular, will directly benefit Jock. “Overcoming Ibrutinib Resistance in Mantle Cell Lymphoma” coincides with his treatment and could lead to a cure! This is exciting.
