Q&A with Tim Broadhead, COO/CFO of Social Indoor
MINNETONKA, Minn. —Tim Broadhead recently joined Social Indoor as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. With a background in finance, operations, and scaling growth-stage companies, Broadhead brings a disciplined yet entrepreneurial approach to the fast-moving indoor out-of-home category. He will oversee the company’s operational strategy, financial health, and market expansion efforts as Social Indoor continues its rapid growth across the U.S.
Q: Tell us about your career background and what brought you to Social Indoor.
A: My background spans both finance and operations, with a focus on building scalable systems and creating financial clarity to support growth. I’ve worked in leadership positions across many industries serving both consumers and small businesses. Most recently I was the Chief Operating Officer at Rockler and previous to that served as President of Amsterdam Printing and Safeguard Business Systems where I gained experience in operational strategy, forecasting, and team alignment. When the opportunity at Social Indoor came along, the combination of entrepreneurial energy and rapid growth made it the right fit.
Q: What appealed to you about the out-of-home industry, given that you’re relatively new to the space?
A: Out-of-home is at an exciting intersection of physical presence and digital transformation. It’s a channel that connects directly with people in their daily environments, and it’s evolving quickly with the use of data and technology. The chance to enter the industry at this moment — with so much momentum and innovation — was very appealing.
Q: Why join a smaller but growing company like Social Indoor?
A: At a company this size, you get to make an immediate impact. Decisions move quickly, and you see the results of your work right away. There’s also an opportunity to shape culture, build scalable systems, and be part of something still in the growth phase. That combination of challenge and opportunity is what drew me to Social Indoor.
Q: What are your top priorities in your new role?
A: My first priorities are to strengthen our operational processes, ensure our financial models and forecasting are robust, and align cross-functional teams around shared goals. It’s about creating the foundation that will support continued growth while keeping the company agile.
Q: What excites you most about Social Indoor’s future?
A: The growth trajectory is what excites me most. Social Indoor is expanding into new markets and building strong partnerships, but there’s still so much potential ahead. Helping guide that growth, while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit that makes this company unique, is something I’m really looking forward to.
