Grandma Nabs Cannes Short List
After investment in OOH advertising in Spain slowed in recent years, JCDecaux engaged agency David Madrid to come up with a campaign to revive the magic of outdoor media. The result? Social posts from a 100-year-old grandma started popping up on billboards in the city subway and she soon captured the curiosity of commuters.
The campaign is among 20 that made the short list for the Titanium Lions in Cannes, announced this week.
GOP Group Runs Anti-Trump Billboards in Philly
Billboards featuring former Trump supporters sprouted up this week along major highways in and around Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg. Republicans Voters Against Trump launched the ad blitz as part of a national play in four of six states, including Pennsylvania, expected to decide the election.
L.A.’s “Welcome to Black Beverly Hills” Billboard Comes Down
The iconic “Welcome to Black Beverly Hills” billboard in south LA has come down. The creator of the billboard, Robert China Berry, trademarked the term “Black Beverly Hills” in 2012 for his clothing brand, which honors the history and cultural importance of the Black community in the region.
Berry says that he was forced to take down and move the billboard multiple times and is now seeking more permanent signage elsewhere in the area.
