1. The OBIE Awards Are Moving to NYC

Starting in 2026, the OAAA’s OBIE Awards will break free from the annual OOH Media Conference and instead become a standalone October event in NYC. In its place at the conference, OAAA is launching a new Honors Circle to recognize the people driving the industry forward.

2. This Billboard Makes a Splash

Disney+ brought a splash of the mythological to Hollywood this week, unveiling a live water-filled billboard to promote Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2. Installed at the high-traffic Hollywood and Vine intersection, the billboard featured a real water tank, complete with cascading fountains, mist bursts, and synced video footage from the newly released Season 2 trailer.

3. Registration Opens for WOO London 2026

Registration is now open for the World Out of Home Organization’s next Annual Congress, to be held in London from June 3-5 2026. The Congress will have two full days of presentations and panels, with breakout sessions on Friday afternoon.

4. Controversial billboards come down in rural Pulaski County

A new Arkansas law wiped out city zoning control in nearby rural areas, and a developer quickly used the loophole to install three large billboards in the small community of Ferndale. Residents pushed back, and after negotiations with Pulaski County, the developer agreed to remove two of them. One billboard tied to his own business will stay, but it can’t advertise anything else for five years.

5. Adams Outdoor Acquires Keysasa Outdoor Assets

Adams Outdoor Advertising today announced the acquisition of out-of-home advertising assets from Keysasa Outdoor in Shelby, North Carolina. This addition of two new structures and four high-impact digital faces expands Adams’ reach along key corridors on the western edge of the Charlotte Designated Market Area (DMA).
