OOH …Here’s One Thing

Is it just me, or does the industry feel a little flat lately? As in b flat. I’m not sure if anyone else is feeling it, too, or it’s just a little case of winter blues for me.
There were days when some great ones assembled dream teams while young entrepreneurs came out of nowhere and built new and innovative companies. Of late, it sometimes feels like day-old bread. We talk about ad tech, programmatic, and analytics, but if I were telling the truth, it feels like it lacks some soul.
How do we shake the complacency and order-taking? Man it beats me, but I do feel like the OAAA has to bring back some fun and excitement. And for the larger organizations, here is what AI says:
- Teach self-awareness: Help individuals recognize their complacent behavior.
- Reinforce company values: Remind employees of the organization’s mission and goals.
- Change routines: Introduce variety to break the monotony.
- Encourage job shadowing: Allow employees to learn from others.
- Build an effective coaching program: Provide guidance and mentorship.
- Perform risk assessments: Highlight potential pitfalls.
- Offer incentives: Reward proactive behavior.
- Allow for workplace transparency: Foster open communication.
- Consider setting goals, shaking up routines, and investing in self-improvement.
Corporate hogwash? Maybe. But maybe, just perhaps, there is a kernel or two of wisdom in there. Hey, Mardi Gras is right around the corner. Maybe it’s time to raise the roof a little. See you out there.
