Laura Segui —Top Women in OOH Spotlight 2025

25+ years in the OOH industry

by Amber Larkins, OOH Today

We recently published our annual list of the Top Women Driving Growth in Out-of-Home (OOH) for 2025. Today, we are highlighting Laura Segui, Vice President, National Sales, Vector Media

Laura Segui began her career in advertising at a small boutique agency in SOHO, where she specialized in media strategy, planning, and buying across multiple verticals. While Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising played a minor role in the campaigns she worked on, the medium and its people left a lasting impact, standing out from other advertising channels.

Her transition into OOH sales began at an experiential marketing firm, where she worked closely with advertising agencies, OOH specialists, and brands directly. This invaluable experience further fueled her passion for the industry.

Message for Lindmark Companies

Two years later, 22 years ago, Laura joined Vector Media when it was still a small, emerging company focused on traditional out-of-home (OOH) assets in NYC. At the time, she was one of only 10 employees. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in helping the company grow into one of the top out-of-home (OOH) providers in the U.S., now with inventory across more than 50 markets and offering a mix of traditional OOH, transit, and experiential advertising.

Being part of the company’s growth from its infancy, her experience working alongside the founder, Bill Schwartz, and the head of sales, Gary Greenstein, has been both personally and professionally rewarding. Laura‘s passion for the out-of-home (OOH) industry continues to evolve as the industry itself thrives and innovates.

Laura first became interested in OOH when she was a buyer, planning and buying across all channels—print, broadcast, radio, and online, but there was something about Out-of-Home that resonated with her more than the rest.

“I loved its size and scale, its ability to target, and the fact that you can’t turn it off, nor do you need to turn it on to be exposed,” Laura said. “It becomes a part of your daily journey, unavoidable, and ever-present. I loved seeing my campaigns come to life on the streets; seeing people interact with it. There was nothing like it!”

I loved seeing my campaigns come to life on the streets; seeing people interact with it. There was nothing like it!”

She feels very blessed that she’s had the opportunity to work under and learn from many incredibly talented and inspiring people in the industry.
From the start of my career, I made it a point to surround myself with a strong network of individuals who motivated and encouraged me. This network has been and continues to be an invaluable resource,” Laura said. She believes that surrounding yourself with smart, driven, and successful people opens up endless opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Laura has faced many challenges in her life, but if she had to pick one that she overcame, it would be her first job in out-of-home advertising.
“I started at a young age and wasn’t exactly greeted with open arms or respect from all my colleagues,” Laura says. “I often felt out of place, looked down on, and overall unwelcome. There were many days I dreaded going to work.”
She was determined to become successful and financially independent, so she persevered. She surrounded herself with people she admired and those who took the time to mentor her.
“I worked hard to prove myself. This determination pushed me even harder,” Laura said.
Despite her long commute, she made sure she was always the first one in and the last person to leave. She offered help with any assignment, big or small, going above and beyond what was expected of her role. Gradually, everything fell into place, and over time, she earned the respect of those who had once looked down on her.
“I became a resource people could rely on and someone who was genuinely valued,” Laura said. “In just under three years, I was promoted three times.”

Over the years, she has had the privilege of working on numerous incredible campaigns.  One that stands out is a reasonably recent campaign for P+/Halo. It demonstrated how thoughtfully crafted, well-placed creative can be not only eye-catching but also profoundly engaging, expanding beyond the initial planned OOH buy.

For P+/Halo, they utilized Double Decker Full Wraps in New York City and Los Angeles, paired with 3D embellishments and digital flex screens, to create a visually stunning and interactive masterpiece. This elevated the massive, eye-level OOH format to a whole new level.  They crafted a giant 3D helmet, complete with a visor made of digital screens, and installed a camera that projected images on the sidewalk through the visor.  People went wild seeing themselves on the digital visor, sparking significant attention and engagement.  The buzz generated led to photos being shared all over social media, which further expanded the campaign’s reach and maximized their investment.

Women in OOH

Over her 25+ years in the OOH industry, Laura says things have come a long way and are improving. She feels fortunate to work for a company that promotes inclusivity and offers many tools and mentorship programs to drive individual growth.

“Empowering women by leading through example is incredibly important,” Laura said. “Seeing smart, talented women in leadership and C-suite positions will continue to inspire the next generation entering the field. It shows them that there is unlimited potential to grow and achieve big dreams in this incredible industry, and that gender, race, or ethnicity won’t limit their career.”

Though she doesn’t believe the industry should be male- or female-dominated, she does believe women play a crucial role and bring valuable perspectives to high-level positions. This is because diversity, in all its forms, fosters collaboration, which always leads to the best outcomes. As she advanced in her role at Vector Media into a senior leadership position, one of her greatest gifts has been the opportunity to work with young men and women just starting their careers.

“I’ve always encouraged growth, taking a hands-on approach to teaching and ensuring they gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of our business while helping to navigate the best path for their individual growth.”

Over the years, she has had the honor of watching many incredible and talented women rise to leadership roles at Vector Media and throughout the industry.

“Seeing people thrive and become leaders in our ever-evolving industry has always been—and will continue to be—a passion of mine,” Laura said. “It’s a core part of my role at Vector Media to provide the same love, support, and encouragement that my leadership so generously continues to give to me today.”

Growth of OOH

While spending continues to rise year after year, Laura says there remains significant potential for further growth. She says OOH advertising is often overlooked or cut by advertisers due to a lack of understanding or difficulty in quantifying their investment.  However, she also believes the industry has made tremendous strides in terms of measurement, which plays a crucial role in telling the story. She believes that the growth of digital OOH, experiential advertising, social, and mobile integrations will be key in helping us capture a larger share of overall spend, as these elements are a natural complement to our format.
“Quantifying the value of OOH spend has always been a challenge, but it’s exciting to see the direction it’s heading,” Laura said.
