One thing is for sure – OOH people love to get together in social settings, especially if there are drinks & good company involved. Last week OOH professionals from agency, client, and vendor OOH companies gathered for Austin’s 1st OOH social.
After moving to Austin earlier this year and noticing a substantial OOH presence in the market, Lina Maggi, SVP of Partnerships at BCN Visuals, the pioneer in 3D anamorphic executions, took the initiative to curate the event. As someone who prides herself in creating meaningful relationships, she took it upon herself to put out feelers and gauge interest in the event. Over 100 people from across the country showed interest in attending within one week of announcing the potential event.
OOH socials have been quite popular over the years in major markets such as Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, attracting over a hundred (or more!) people from across the country and going late – often into the next morning… With remote work becoming more popular, many OOH folks have relocated, and Austin seems to be a major market – a central hub between New York and Los Angeles.
The event had a turnout of about 50 people, with approximately a third of the attendees flying in from other markets. Attendees came from Billups, Simon Property, Outfront, Clear Channel, Vistar, Branded Cities, Reagan Outdoor, ADQuick, Vericast, Kelly Scott Madison, KEVANI, ODN, Brooklyn Outdoor, Lamar, Overall Murals, Starlite Media, PMG, and Yahoo.
Given the successful turnout of the event and continued interest in future Austin events, this is one event that should be on your calendar.
