The 2022 GO OOH Media Conference and Expo is just a few days away! This year, we’ll be calling beautiful Marco Island, Florida home for the conference, as we re-connect, collaborate, and create in person after 2+ long years apart.

With this in mind, we thought it would be helpful for everyone to know some fun, fast facts about the location!

Marco Island is the largest of Florida’s “Ten Thousand Islands”, which are a series of islands and inlets on the Gulf coast of the state. But did you know that the “Ten Thousand Islands” actually only number in the hundreds?

Marco Island itself is only 6 miles in length by 4 miles in width, and is connected to the mainland of the state by two bridges. Each of these passageways run in one direction, so technically the island can only be entered and exited by one route each!

While there, be sure to keep an eye out for Burrowing Owls, one of Florida’s smallest owl species, and a very common sight across the island. Though small (roughly the size of a 12 oz. can), they’re a big part of the island’s life, and are even protected by locals through a safe-harbor program.

We hope to see you there, for what is sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience!
