ArtPop Street Gallery Illuminates Times Square with Local Artists’ Work

[Charlotte, North Carolina]– ArtPop Street Gallery, a nonprofit dedicated to creating sustainable financial futures for Charlotte-region artists, is partnering with OUTFRONT Media to showcase local artists in the heart of Times Square in New York City.

From February 12-March 10, 2024, the 98ft x 47ft digital canvas at 48th St and 7th Ave will feature works of emerging and established Charlotte-region artists selected as ArtPop’s Cities Program Class of 2024.

ArtPop Street Gallery’s Cities Program mission centers around showcasing art to promote local artists’ small businesses, while fostering community engagement through accessible, large-scale displays in both urban and rural environments.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with OUTFRONT Media, a leader in outdoor advertising, to bring the transformative power of art to Times Square,” said Wendy Hickey, Founder and Executive Director of ArtPop Street Gallery. “This unprecedented display offers a unique platform for talented local artists to connect with a global audience, while simultaneously enriching the cultural landscape of one of the world’s most iconic locations.”

The featured artists represent the diversity and vibrancy of Charlotte’s creative scene, spanning a range of mediums, styles, and perspectives, Hickey said.
