OOH …Here’s One Thing

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, it is that time again, for the Really BIG Show. (If you understand that reference, you should be on a beach in Islamorada and not reading this little diddy, by the way.) In any event, I am referring to the 2025 OOH Media Conference, aka the OAAA Annual Conference, sometimes referred to as the GeoPath Conference and for us old timers, the “TAB”.) Confusing right? Almost as confusing as asking whether I should say OOH or outdoor (although I think the authorities finally weighed in on that).
But I digress. A couple of years ago, I wrote a short snippet on the fraternity homecoming (ladies, you are included in that loose term) that the OAAA is. If you missed it, you can find it here→ One – OOH TODAY…or if you are having a slow Monday start, please visit this take on it→ Woke Up in Nashville – OOH TODAY.
The good news is I will not revisit these themes before this year’s really big show. Instead, short and sweet, I will give you 7 things not to do at this year’s OOH 2025 conference.
Without further ado: 7 Things Not To Do at OOH 25Conference
- Don’t forget your business cards. (Yes, so 2005…but still, man, I don’t want your phone hovering over mine.)
- My mother-in-law (who did enjoy it shaken, not stirred) once said nothing good comes from being out past Midnight. Hit the sack by 12:30 AM. You will thank yourself in the morning.
- Don’t write off the Obie Awards. Even the bad ones were good IMHO.
- Don’t ask Anna what’s going on with GeoPath. When the board decides, she will let you know.
- Don’t leave Boston without a walk up Beacon Hill and a stroll through the North End. If you do, you will miss an incredible piece of our history.
- For God’s sake, please no T-shirts or board shorts. Any other day…
- Last but not least…don’t forget to hydrate. These damn conferences are a full contact sport.
In case the connection between Neon Trees and “The Conference” (hey, maybe we should clear it up by running with that in the future) doesn’t grab ya, then try this:
I’m looking forward to exchanging business cards.
