For today’s Fast Fact Friday, we will continue our series examining the top OOH spenders in specific DMAs, to help our members prepare as markets reopen. The data is sourced from Kantar and covers OOH ad spend from January to March of 2020. Recent Fast Fact Friday articles have looked at Seattle-Tacoma, New Orleans, and Phoenix, highlighting the top OOH advertisers in these markets.
This week we travel to the 21st largest DMA in the US, Charlotte, NC. According to Geopath Insights, we currently measure over 3,600 roadside OOH units within the market, generating over 554 million impressions every week! Let’s take a look at the top ten spenders in the medium, and get a little insight into how those impressions are being used within the market.
The financial sector is an avid buyer of OOH within “The Queen City,” with Wells Fargo, Fifth Third, and Sharonview Credit Federal Union holding the second, ninth, and tenth on the top OOH spender list.
The Real Estate industry is also a large spender in OOH within the DMA, represented by Mark Spain Real Estate, Stephen Cooley Real Estate, and Allen Tate.
Also, interesting to note, the North Carolina State Lottery takes the third spot on the list. As mentioned in prior Fast Facts, this is a trend seen in a number of DMAs we have analyzed, with State Lotteries spending heavily in OOH to promote their games.
