Poor Spelling Makes Clever OOH Copy
Visible, purchased through Apex, is running a mobile billboard in Denver as part of a larger OOH media campaign. The creative includes a purposeful typo “unlimited massages” – instead of “messages” – meant to raise some eyebrows. Visible, a cell phone carrier, reportedly installed 150 billboards around Denver. The message read: “Unlimited massages, minutes and data on Visible’s $40/mo phone service.” The misspelling (of “messages,”) was part of a plan to for greater impact with public and press.
True to their word, Visible will be offering free massages at Denver’s Union Station this Saturday. Recently launched by Verizon, Visible is a new, stand alone cell phone carrier and service option for mobile phones.
